For 45 years, the Las Vegas Sun Summer Camp Fund has provided economically disadvantaged children the opportunity to go to summer camp. For many of these children, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that has a profound effect on their lives. All come from low-income homes, many from single-parent families, while others are foster children who have no permanent home and are enriched socially and emotionally by interacting with other children at summer camp.
In 2014, the Sun Summer Camp Fund provided 383 disadvantaged and at-risk children camperships at a cost of $128,800. As Southern Nevada has grown, so have the needs of it's children. To meet these growing needs, the Sun Summer Camp Fund works to increase the number of camperships available each year.
